Mary Ward

Mary Ward founded the Loreto order. Every year in our school we celebrate the life and achievements of Mary Ward. This year was a particularly significant year as we celebrated the 400th anniversary of the founding of the first school by Mary Ward. To commemorate this event, representatives from each of the Loreto schools in Ireland joined together in a special mass in Mullingar to mark this momentous occasion. During Mary Ward Week, each class in our school spent time learning about the life of Mary Ward. Each class also designed a piece of art work based on a particular aspect of Mary Ward's life and the values she taught.
