Home School Link

My name is Fiona Finn and I am the Home School Link for Loreto Senior and Junior Primary Schools. My real job title is Home School Community Liaison Co-ordinator but I think that's very long!

My main role is to work with parents and guardians to involve them in the life of the school. I also link in with local community groups and agencies.

I work closely with the Home School Link people from other local schools. For example, we organised courses for parents together. This year parents and guardians have been enjoying Salsa, computers, art, Irish and English as an Additional Language. If you have any ideas for courses you would like to see in the future, let me know!

I sometimes visit parents and guardians in their homes. This is another way to meet parents and guardians and have a quick chat about their child in school. Thanks to all the parents and guardians who have welcomed me into their homes this year!

Ms Hogan's class are very excited at the moment as they will soon be working with parents at Science for Fun. Myself and the parents will practise the activities for a few weeks and then we will bring them into the classroom. It promises to be great fun!
